Abstract:
The implementation of product service systems is affiliated with many advantages, for example enhanced value, customer satisfaction, dematerialization etc. and seen as a business model that creates a competitive edge for companies. Despite strong efforts some companies are finding it hard to shift from a traditional product oriented business towards a more value oriented business. Some of the reasons being, the complexity involved in the integration of heterogeneous services with products and the gathering of heterogeneous information scattered throughout an organization needed to conceptualize PSS. This thesis explores the possibilities and advantages of applying computer aided service design also known as service
CAD to facilitate the conceptualization phase of a PSS development.
